How to make the inverter survive from the summer

The hot summer is accompanied by high temperatures and scorching heat. Frequency converters are widely used in the electrical automation industry. High temperatures in summer bring high-frequency shutdowns and other faults to operating frequency converters and equipment. In actual work, as the ambient temperature rises, the frequency converter cannot dissipate heat in time and the failure rate gradually increases, and the use efficiency of components will decrease. Through comprehensive and multi-faceted analysis and summary, corresponding measures are formulated to prevent shutdowns and other failures in response to high temperatures in summer.

1. Is the heat dissipation of the inverter normal?

Reason: The inverter is divided into natural heat dissipation, air cooling and forced air cooling. Make sure that the inverter itself dissipates heat properly. Check whether the cooling fins and cooling fans are normal, and whether the fans in forced air-cooled cabinets are normal. Poor heat dissipation will cause most of the inverter's self-generated heat to accumulate inside and not be able to be dissipated.

Measures: Check whether the cooling fin fan is normal.

1. Observe whether the cooling fins and fans of the inverter are blocked, fallen off, damaged, and whether the fan blades are broken.

2. Listen to the fan rotation to see if there are any abnormal sounds or if it is stuck.

If the inspection is abnormal, it is necessary to repair or replace the cooling fins and fans in time.

2. Cabinet ventilation and air duct circulation

Reason: When the air duct of the inverter control cabinet is blocked, it will affect the heat dissipation of the equipment and cause an overheat alarm.

Measures: Regularly clean the dust accumulation in the cabinet air duct and remove the garbage blocking the outside of the cabinet to ensure smooth suction and discharge of the air duct.

3. Influence of ambient temperature

Reason: There are many electronic components inside the inverter, such as resistors, etc., which will generate heat when the inverter is running. If the ambient temperature is too high, the internal temperature will increase, which is not conducive to the dissipation of internal heat.

Measures: Air conditioning can be installed to reduce the ambient temperature. If there are no conditions, you can open the cabinet for heat dissipation, or use a fan to force air cooling to reduce the ambient temperature.
