Motor tripping means that when the motor or line fails, the current suddenly changes, causing the protective switch to automatically disconnect.
Observe whether there are any abnormalities in the motor and what are its main symptoms.
1. When the stator coil winding is short-circuited, you may see smoke coming from the motor.
2. When the motor is severely overloaded or running out of phase, the speed will slow down and there will be a heavier "buzzing" sound.
3. The motor maintenance network operates normally, but when it suddenly stops, you will see sparks coming from loose connections; fuses blowing or certain parts getting stuck, etc.
4. If the motor vibrates violently, the transmission device may be stuck, the motor may be poorly fixed, or the foot bolts may be loose, etc.
5. If there are discoloration, burn marks, smoke marks, etc. at the contact points and connections inside the motor, it may indicate local overheating, poor contact at the conductor connection, or burnt windings.
6. Power cable failure.
7. The machinery being carried is jammed.
8. The voltage is too low.
9. Relay protection malfunction or personnel malfunction.
Countermeasures:
1. If the backup motor does not automatically turn on, turn on the switch of the backup motor quickly.
2. If there is no spare motor, the electrical operation personnel on duty should be notified to check. Only if there is no problem can it be started again.
3. If the backup motor is automatically turned on, return each control switch to its normal position.
4. If the circuit breaker trips during restart, do not restart until the cause is found out, and notify the electrical personnel to check.
5. After receiving the notice, the electrical operator should check the motor protection action, the thermal relay action, whether the motor stator coil and cable are short-circuited, grounded, or disconnected, whether the protection setting is too small, and whether the interlocking loop is normal. Check whether the switching capacity is too small, whether the attached machinery is jammed, whether the switching mechanism is in good condition, and measure the insulation resistance of the motor (including cables).
